Yeah would be great to see Safin win it, but he needs to get by Roddick
in the 3rd round, I can't see it happening to be honest...

Ferrero lost today to some nobody ... there's a player in freefall...

Managed to see most of the Nadal - Murray game between being in bed with the laptop and in Paddy Power. Have to say Murray surprised me; he is clearly capable of living with these players for power and pace, he just needs to work on his stamina, and obviously needs to trim the unforced error count. But both of these aspects of his game should improve with experience.

I am thinking of having a speculative bet on Roddick on the outright market; will obviously have to make up my mind soon though, before he dispatches with this Fish character.

Well not watched this as much as I would have liked due to exams but did manage to catch Federer versus Roddick.
All I can say is wow, not sure I have seen such a complete performance as the one Federer gave, he made Roddick look distinctly average. On that form he is untouchable. Gonzalaz is playing real well by all accounts, managed not to see him unfortunaely but if Federer is on his game then he will be lucky to win a set.

As for the womens I am going to go for Serena.

Watched the ladies final last night and Serena just blew Sharapova away.
    She played brilliant tennis.
Hard hitting but very accurate ,she dominated from the baseline but was flawless at the net when necessary, it was one of the best performances I have seen in the ladies game in a long time.
Delighted she won as she is a much more complete tennis player than Sharapova who I think is very akward and limited in her play.
Couldnt believe Williams a 7 time Grand Slam champion was the 2-1 underdog.Too good a bet to refuse.
Makes a mockery of the ridiculous rankings system.
First unseeded player to win since 1978,Williams won it the hard way.

Agreed, she blew sharapova of the court. I heard she was like 180-1 roughly to win it before the tournament began which is mad.
I don't think ranking systems did too much wrong. I mean she has bearly played for 2 years, you can't expect her to be ranked highly.

She was ranked 81st in the World before the tournament but that ranking was largely due to inactivity.
The commentators were basically trying to say that someone ranked 81st in the World hadnt a hope.
But she isnt the 81st best player in the world ,she is prob the best on form.
It would be like Tiger Woods not playing for 2 years then coming back to golf .
Do you think he'd have a chance of winning ?
You can be sure he would.
    Form is temporary,class is permanent.
    Federer looks invincible .
First player not to drop a set in a Grand Slam since Bjorg in 1980.
He truly is a genius on the court.

Aye, on form she is better then 81st in world but you can't just have ranking system where she is ranked in top 10 after not playing in 2 years and honestly who actually thought she would win it before the tournament kicked off.
No matter how good you are it usually takes time to come to top form. It just doesn't happen overnight.
