    Hi all,

I have just moved to Ireland about 2 months ago. I'm a plastic modeller and I have been thinking if there is any kind of plastic model association or club here in Ireland, Dublin in particular.

I'm a 40 years old engineer that have been building plastic models since childhood. It'd be nice to meet other fellows that share the same hobby.

Any info/help will be very welcome.

    Thanks,

    Antonio Garcia.

Back in the late '90s, before I joined an FCA unit that paraded on 'Model Night', I was a member of the Irish Model Soldier Society: Airplanes, tanks, ships... Basically static scale models, not just figures. As they are apparently sponsoring 'Best Irish soldier' of the Long Island Modellers competition last year, I presume they are still a going concern, though I can't seem to locate a website for them. When I emigrated in 2000, they had just moved from Buswell's to the Abbey Hotel, first Thursday of the month. I strongly recommend researching to find out if they're still meeting there though!

I was also a member of SDMRC, but they're railroads only.

    Thank you all,

I'll try to find this Irish Model Soldier Society. I'll also give a try to this wicklow scale model club, after all I live and Bray and it's a shot way to Wicklow town.

If I find some more places I'll post it here, in case more people is looking for.

    Thanks again for the help.

    Antonio
