having read on a different thread that longford is the most depressing town I'm not full of hope on this. I'm moving up next week to start a new job. I don't know anyone there and I'm not at all familiar with the town. Does anyone know of any clubs to join, is there a pool? basically anything I can do to keep boredom at bay. any suggestions welcome.

Best of luck with the move. Depends on your interests? There is a new cinema, golf course (new one on the way), good theater, ok soccer team and plenty of GAA clubs around although the standard is not the best. Not sure if the pool is still open but there is a new one being built at the moment.

Longford isn't that bad tbh!! It all depends on what your into, I'm moving down later in the year hopefully!!
AFAIK the pool is still open, there is plenty of things to do there but be more specific as to what you want to get involved with!!

ok well me and sports don't really mix to be honest.well not contact sport anyeay.I'm not very aggressive.I could deal with badminton or tennis. I guess I just need to meet some people so I'm not completely friendless. I'm there for the next 2 years anyway. I'm outgoing and i don't mind doing stuff on my own(this is beginning to sound like a personal add).

    THAT'S a banning offence...?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

The county team may have improved but the club level standard is still a long way below that of other counties... and yes, I do follow it, played in championships up to a few years ago.
