On a flop of Q-7-3, Player A bet out for 500. Player B from America dropped two 500 chips out. He said he wanted to just flat call but the dealer said that bet was binding. He protested and then Van Marcus re-raised to 2500. Player A folded and Player B moved all-in. Marcus called with 7-7 and Player B had Q-Q for top set Van Marcus had him covered and was not eliminated but he was fuming over the angle shooting incident. He challenged the young American to fight in the parking lot. Stay tuned for an update on the possible fisticuffs.

Very poor form - I would be beside myself with rage and definitely be up for a fight after this!

That said, I prefer poison as my favourite method of exacting revenge and would probably send a basket of poisoned muffins to the American lad's hotel room.

Extremely poor form. The words "cheating scumbag" would emanate from my lips very soon after this. But then, it takes one to know one...

...I once made Bottom Feeder (Wes) fold the best hand in a cash game after I lied by nodding my head when he asked if I had a set. It didn't feel very good raking in the pot and I vowed never to do anything like that again.

Sometimes you just have to wonder.....

    What do you do?

You are the BB (400), a player moves all-in for 1400, everyone else folds to you.
Your stack is 38,000. What do you do if you have {A-Spades}{K-Spades}?

Well I agree but I just saw a player, lay that hand down.

    lol!

The thoughts of angle shooting like that would never even come close to entering my head, you'd have to be some scumbag to do that, is it really worth a couple of k in chips for everything that goes with it.

Personally I dont really have a problem with what the guy did, its poker your meant to lie thats kind of the point.

Also it could very well be that he really did only mean to call, I mean if he has top set then surely its very possible he was trying to slowplay.

lee nelson to do the double?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 837 ✭✭✭kpnuts

Good news for Dave Callaghan fans (from Poker Stars blog):

"Since then Lee [Nelson] has doubled up another player, David Callaghan. Lee called David's all in from his small blind, holding J5o. David turned over pp4's and the board was no help to Lee, who dropped about 40k but has approximately 360k, so can absorb the loss...

The blinds are 1200 / 2400 with 400 antes and there are 126 left, with the average stack at 118k."

If Nelson "dropped" 40k, that should leave Dave on around 85k. One more juicy pot before close of play and he will be in good shape for Day 3.

He's on the feature table, where Antonius been haemhorraging chips all day and getting increasingly annoyed that reigning champ Nelson is hoovering up most of them. Seems to be plenty of niggle between that pair.
