Part of tooth gone

Now I know I am going to be shot down in flames for things I am going to mention as I am my own worst enemy and I know whatever happens to my teeth is my own fault and no one elses. I just wanted to say this upfront because I know how the following is going to sound.

Anyway, for about 3 years now I have had what I believe to be wisdom tooth pain for about 2 weeks every 6 or so months. I haven't seen a dentist in 4 years by the way (see first paragraph). Well normally I just grin and bare the 2 week pain as it always goes away. Well about 2 months ago I got the pain again, but I also damaged my second furthest back (the big one next to the wisdom tooth) tooth by eating a boiled sweet that made a small but noticable hole in it. If I ate anything (usually soft food like rolls, buns, bread, etc etc) on that tooth the pain was so unbareable, as though I had put a pin down the back of my finger nail. So I soon learnt to eat on the other side of my mouth. The wisdom pain soon went away within 3 weeks or so and I could now drink on that side of the mouth without pain on the tooth with the hole, although I still make sure I don't eat on that side of the mouth so I am unsure if the pain will still be there when eating, I am fairly sure the pain is a lot less though as I haven't whinced in pain in a long time.

Anyway, yesterday I stupidly had another boiled sweet, this time it cracked the same bad tooth. I tried not to suck it rather then chew it, but I must have forgotten, as i heard a crack and saw bits of my tooth. I felt a sharp mark on my tooth and looked in the mirror, part of that same bad tooth had gone. No pain though. I then checked today and even more has gone, a whole 1/4 of the tooth (the tooth looks like it should be in 4 parts, one whole part has gone).

Now, I know what you are thinking and saying to yourself while shaking your head in sheer bemusement, WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T I BEEN TO A DENTIST !!! Well, various reasons. One is I moved from one county to another and stupidly let my new dentist expire, as I didn't visit within 6 months of moving house, and there is no chance of another NHS dentist around here. The other is I was worried if I did go to a dentist he would get my wisdom teeth taken out and I live in dread of that having to happen, even though I know the repurcusions of not doing it could be worse. Although I do get wisdom tooth pain it is usually gone within 2 weeks. The third and actually main reason is my size. When I was suffering from sheer pain a few months ago I was in such discomfort that I spoke to a private dentist to get my problems sorted, regardless of cost, as it was hurting that much. But as I am a big guy (26 stone) I asked about the weight his chair could go, and he said about 22 max, but he said he could look at me but may just have to do my teeth with me sitting up, but he did also make a point of saying it was an expensive chair which made me feel worse. I know my health should come above embarrasment but I just thought if I get there and can't fit on the chair, or break it, or cause a big fuss, then I will just die and feel awful. So I thought I would put up with any recurring pain until I have lost enough weight. So I have been losing weight in the meantime hoping to get down to 21 stone so I can get this all sorted out. Now this goes and happens in the mean time which puts a spanner in the works.

As I am not in any pain (at the moment, touch wood), is this a good sign or is it more likely to mean my tooth is knackered fully ? Should I also worry that I have just swallowed a 1/4 of a tooth given how sharp the edges are ? Also are their any dentists in the south of the UK that have heavy weight chairs ?

As I say, I know I could go to the dentist (or dental hospital), even if it means shoving it on my credit card and being in debt, but the weight thing is the main worry. If I am too heavy for the chair then what happens ? I am losing weight but shifting many stones takes months.

Thanks for reading and I am gritting my teeth (pun intended) ready to be flamed alive for my stupidity of not putting my health first (both weight and teeth wise).

True, I don't actually know the point in my post, perhaps I just wanted or needed to hear the inevitable.
