    Hi folks,

Dunno if there's already been a thread on this, but I'm looking for a really nice recipie for homemade brown bread. Any suggestions?

Also, how dya stop the bread from puffing up in the oven? Mine always puffs up on one side.

    Thanx!!:D

This is the basic recipe I use:

    1 1/2 cups plain flour
    1 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
    1 tsp Baking soda
    1 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups milk (or a combination of milk and cream/butter milk)

Mix dry ingredients. Throw in some seeds/oatmeal if you like. Stir in milk. Into a greased loaf tin. Sprinkle some pinhead oatmeal or seeds on top.
    190deg for about 50 mins.

Rising on one side is the fault of your oven. This happens in mine, so I just turn it around half way through.
