60 hz problem?

hey, i'm cant play any of the 60 hz games on my tv.it wont work when i change the settings to 60hz. when i bought the tv it actually turned out to be a monitor with tv tuner even though it was advertised as a lcd tv. it works fine except at 60hz. is there anyway around this 60hz?? a friend said something about a vga…
