FPS and BBs

Hi guys, just wondering when checking the Muzzle energy of the gun, the gun i'm currently getting is the Socom Mk 23, which i have on order.

The FPS is 320.
However using 0.12g BBs the gun fires at 0.57 joules
using 0.20 fires at 0.61 joules

However on some sites i've seen the guns muzzle energy at 330 FPS.
And with 0.20 BBs the gun fires at 1.01 Joules

Basically just wondering are the BBs taking into considersation like i have? or is it just the factory stock muzzle energy that counts?

Sorry if something like has been asked before, but i'm in a hurry to get an answer, thanks in advance.

Are you trying to work out if you can import it or not? go right ahead, you wont have any problems

oh no no i've read like nearly every thread here on importing and you have all been really helpful towards that, I'm just worried now, that if the gun fires at 330 fps with 0.20g BBs....its going to be over the 1 joule set in the firearms act....which means i would then need a licence?

The gun uses gas to fire. Only the first 2 bbs will fire at 330fps. After that, the fps will drop slightly with every shot. Maybe down to 310 in the end.

Anyway 330 is so marginally over that it's not even worth thinking about!

ahhh the Toyko Marui version, getting it off fire support, with 3700 bbs, and 2 more gas cans, all for 200 euro! but i'll definately let you know how i get on, hopefully should have it by thursday/ friday next week *fingers crossed *

My friend has the exact same gun, he recieved it hassle free to say the least. oh ya its true what they say its so quite its scary.

Oh the silencer that comes with it?
i heard it was pretty decent, also comes with a LAM unit, but that part isn't anything special for tactical.

Actually Scope, has your friend had any problem with the mag being leaky? I forgot to ask you.

I'd love to get one of these to go with my Famas. Then all i'd need is some black gear, a headband and a box of smokes

The Lam unit isnt meant to be the best. But if you want, i've heard its possible to replace the light and laser with decent ones

Toyko Marui are actually the only people who make the Famas. It's not too expensive either. Would deff compliment your Socom! Such a fun gun to shoot. I love it I do.

well what i can tell ya about it is 1. its very light especially without the mag you'd have no problems wielding the thing single handed all day long even with the lam and silencer on, 2.its fukin huge with the accesories on lol 3. it has great power and range [only pistol i can compare is my beretta which is great 2 but the socom seems more accurate at longer range at least,4. the lam unit is almost worthless,only use ive seen so far from it is 2 render my laser useless when the lights pointed at me lol, he hasnt tried to put a proper light on laser in their yet but i here its fairly easy, the mag hasnt leaked at all yet he had 2 lost 1, and it seems to hold up longer in very cold weather then my piece atleast [metal slide i suppose]
its defenetly personel preference as you could be dissapointed with the lightness of it r the fact thats theirs no metal or blowback but she performs very well

I'd say as a first pistol he wont be disappointed anyway!

If you want to buy a Famas, make sure to buy it on ehobby. You'll save a fortune.

All you need is a large battery, charger, extra high cap mag and you'll be good to go!

Cool well i'll wait for my Socom, see how i am with my first Airsoft product. I'd say maybe in a month or 2 i could afford a rifle, but i would definately go for the Famas, mainly the price, and what you have said about it, but also the design is also fairly unqiue, thanks again guys for the help, i was a bit anxious about getting the Airsoft etc etc, but i can't wait now!!

It's a really under rated gun. As i mentioned before, you can hear it over all the other guns at a game because it has such a high rate of fire. The thing is practically indestructible. Belive me, I've dropped mine many times

Only problem with it. Its mostly plastic. Although once you start firing, you forget about this very quickly.

lol i spent a **** load of time reaserching the china clones but ive hardly read a word about this thing yet other then "china famas released" some of them come from noware its class theirs something new every day or 2

well arnies and airsoftcommunity.co.uk have a few huge threads that are constantly changing what guns their talking about, the releases are so frequent. and this site http://acmgames.proboards66.com although philipino has tons of info ACM stands for anything china made so theirs alot of infos their 2 say the least

I can understand needing high powered snipes. But i'd be against high powered AEGs. I was riddled in the back with one that was deff over 1j. It hurt. Bad!

well i think they have some rule taht it has to be converted 2 semi only, ya can still fire very fast though, bt looks like we'll never have to worry bout such things

Well i already have a Famas! Just would like to hear news about it seeing as there hasnt really been any production on an airsoft one in well over a decade.

it would be a sam only i'd say is metal looking at site

Its ABS unfortunately. Just read it (lucky chap that I am able to speak French!) and it doesnt look too bad. Come with a metal bipod, 2 metal rails, metal sling attachments and metal "trigger contour". Dont understand that last bit.

EDIT: Its CYMA made.
