I'm writing a piece on this new addition to the Irish market, one year on.
Some of what I've found so far on the net has been along the lines that it's good ar*se wipe paper but it's dated a few months ago. No pun but looking for something fresher.

Who consistantly reads it? Who hates it? Why? Who cares? opinions people I need opinions on anything at all.

    I thank thee in advance.

It is isn't one I'd read either. You may find it hard to get opinions here on it. Camp yourself outside a few newsagents perhaps.

Not exactly, and I appreciate your anonymity, however I think it's only fair that people know who they're giving their opinions to when they do this (and if that person is likely to make profit from them). I suppose that's their decision though.

    'Not exactly?'

I guess I forgot, yet again, that Irish sites are that bit more head-wrecking for getting information.

    Blood from a frigging turnip.

Anywho, thanks Flukey, I reckon you're right.

I usually buy the Irish Mail on Sunday, mainly because of the big name columnists, both UK and Irish.

Some can be real 'rent-a-gobs'. For example, Rod Liddle will spend the first 250 words of a restaurant review talking about how 'hard' he was living rought streets of London in the 70's then change gear and talk about the 'exquiste' and 'piquant' tones of the duck he had in a 5-star restaurant with some Z-lister. Journalistic wankery par excellance.

Clarkson is also a similar hoot. He'll spend the first three-quarters of a review of some new Audi talking about how the French smell of cheese and how the Germans like to holiday in Poland before getting down to the brass tacks of the review.

I would be underhand if I didn’t firstly say that I been involved in some ‘skirmishes’ with associated newspapers (not legal ones!) and thus could be considered as biased - not necessarily.

The group is bleeding money currently – the Daily Sunday and Metro (although the latter is getting some good ad revenues). However they have now re-branded, a cohesive look. Any group that can come into one of the most competitive newspaper markets in Europe and steal 113,000 copies on Sunday and 60,000 daily – hats off!

I say 'not exactly' because the issue of people using boards.ie for research has been discussed before but no decision (that I know of) has come about just yet... I'll let you know once that changes.

I'm not sure what this site being Irish has to do with a lack of information - you're asking people for their opinions and they can give that to you if they want.
And if you're relying on a bulletin board to provide research for your college or professional work, then you're only going to get what you paid for.

Well excuse-f***ing me if I don't read Oirish Trash for your benefit.

After speaking with mods and admins I've decided to lock the thread.

You cannot expect to use boards.ie as a source of research which you intend to use on a 'for-profit' basis, nor can you expect the site to facilitate you when you refuse to give any details on yourself in any form whatsoever.

I'm going to add something to the charter on this, but for future reference it is site policy that non-profit research only (eg college work) is allowed, and it is good practice to ask a mod before posting a thread looking for such.

I'd just like to say that it's terrible shoite altogether.

To protect my anonymity, I won't say why except that it is.
