Similar to the last one, but with buses.

Really depends on the length of the journey and how full the bus is.

If I'm only going a few stops, I'll sit downstairs, towards the back, in the first available empty double seat.

If I'm going a long way (town to home, for example), I'll go upstairs and sit in the closest empty double seat to the stairs, usually on the left side of the bus.

Then of course, if the bus is close to full, I'll just take whatever seat I can get!

Victor, you missed a couple of options on the poll, but I know you're limited to number of options, but there's bound to be people who'll sit anywhere and people who choose to stand...

Thats for double deckers so. Id normally sit naer enough the back, downstairs(centre-rear).

For coaches its different (obviously). Bus Eireann its down about 3/4s way down the bus, but on school bus, its bout 5 rows from front, opposite side to driver

Either upstairs, behind the stairs (leg room), at the back upstairs, in the middle(again for legroom), or downstairs, at the back(yep, legroom).

Bus Eireann, down the back, either in the middle, or to the side if there emergency exit is right at the back (love the big stretch-out-your-leg-room space).

    Inbound: upstairs front left
Outbound: upstairs front right, over the driver.

Don't ask me why I change sides, must be an OCD thing. :p

If I am going upstairs, which normally I do, usually I on the left side, slightly back from the stairs. If downstairs, centre left of the bus. I don't live too far from a terminus, so usually by the time the bus gets to my stop, there is a good range of seats to choose from, so I can get the one I want. :)

I choose the first double seat free anywhere apart from right behind the driver, failing that I'd sit upstairs in whichever empty seat I see first (this would be on double-deckers obviously).

Somewhere in front of the stairs upstairs. Furthest from the engine and it's brighter.

    Depends on the bus...

    Double-deckers
Usually downstairs in the raised seats (2 rows behind the centre door if RA/RV) or upstairs directly across from the stairs..

    Coaches:
About 1/3 to half way down on the left

I hate sitting on the rght hand side of a bus and definitely can't do sitting in backwards-facing seats

When I'm on a double deck bus my preference is for the top floor, front row - you get a nice birds eye view from there. Most of my bus journies though are on single deckers and minibuses, there I don't really care just go to where there are fewer people.

Can we change the question to, last bus with 50 party gang going to Bondi armed with Dutch Gold?

PS i have the drivers seat booked!

Depends on the bus for me. On a rough route I'll avoid the upper deck as that's where most of the trouble happens. I'll also tend to avoid going too near the back on the lower deck so I don't get hassled by skangers sitting there. I've made the mistake of choosing the second last row in the past, not good.

well most of the time i sit anywere i can
    but given the choice...
well theres no double deckers in limerick city so i always sit somewere in the middle
on the country bus eireann buses i alwaus sit at the back seat
and when im in dublin on dublin bus i always try to sit upstairs at or near the front

I don't get the bus very often anymore but when I do without fail - upstairs centre (subject to the seat inbetween rule if pretty empty) and always on the left side!?

The back seat on the RA's and RV's is great - it's lovely and warm there in winter.
