    Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on this little annoyance I have.

Automatic Updates found 1 update to install (MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)) it tells me,

" You have successfully updated your computer " but 5 minutes later the same update is ready to be installed even if i install it and restart the computer.

Just had a thought I'm probably way off but I just posted a Thread "Internet problem maybe Firefox",

could they be connected in any way??

    Thanks in advance.
    Zale.

Had exactly the same problem when Windows Update tried installing IE7 on my PC in work (was running IE7 Beta). It would install fine, then I would reboot and it would start installing again...

Was advised on this forum to leave it alone until it went away and it did! Hopefully the same will happen to you :)

Did the problem go away like it did for me though? I just posted because it sounded very similar but maybe it isn't!?

No still there, I just don't pay any attention to it now. How long before it goes, thats if it is the same.

I had this as well with Win2k - eventually I had to skip the one update after about a week of it coming up again, and again.
