You can try moviestar.ie for free for 6 weeks using the promo code "metro" or for a month with a code from pigsback.

They are not bad at all. You should manage at least 6 dvds a month if you watch and return without delaying too much. Plus with you being in Dublin the post should be that little bit faster than in some other places.

Take a look at the catelogue of films available on each site to see who best matches your interests.

    Others include

    http://www.busybeedvd.com

    http://www.screenclick.com/

I have tried a few of these and have never had more than 1 dvd per week. you might be better off on the 2 dvd or nore package.

The metro code is no longer valid.
Moviestar has the best selection by far .
18.99 per month for a 3 disc package is top value.
I joined for the 6 week trial and received 20 films which was very good.
However now that I stayed on the service has deteriorated noticeably .
This week despite having all 3 discs back on Monday ,I had one sent out Tues and one sent out yesterday despite a big wishlist.
I have no doubt that they are holding back titles and this is unacceptable.
Screenclick has a very limited selection but the service is swift and they send me out discs as soon as I return the previous ones.
Compared to Lovefilm in the UK who stock nearly every DVD released in the UK the Irish online rental companies have a minute selection though.

I think there's still 6 months free DVD rental with ScreenClick using this promotion:http://www.o2online.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/O2ProductDisplayView?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&phoneId=22002&flowType=S&productId=22002&newFlag= This was advertised as 6 months free DVD rental, as far as I know it's still 6 months but you'd probably need to check first: OnlineShop.Queries@o2.com You get €75 free call credit for new connections or €90 for upgrades and free delivery.

I suppose it is worth pointing out that its pretty much a waste of time being a member around the Christmas period. Slow post means that service almost grinds to halt around then.

At same time you are free to cancel at any time so its not like they are conning anyone.

I was on Screenclick then moved to Busy Bee now gone to Moviestar their 3 DVD package costs the same as the 2 DVD package from Busy Bee - they also seem to have the biggest selection and their website is definitely the better of the three (Busy Bee site looks awful and awkward to navigate) - other problem I found with the other two is it takes them ages to get new releases - Moviestar are much quicker - I know they seem to have a bit of bad press due to the owners but at the end of they day it's the best service

As far as I know the 2FM promo code is still working for a month trial - code- 2FM

Have tried all of them and currently with Moviestar and they are performing quite well, unfortunately its An Post that messes up the service of these companies. One tip though......change ur delivery address to your work address as the business post is alot quicker.

The post had nothing to do with it.
They had the 3 discs back on Monday yet they didnt dispatch any Monday.
They dispatched one Tuesday and one Friday .
    Thats unacceptable.
All 3 should have been dispatched Tue or Wed at the latest.
I obviously accept that the post is slow over Christmas but it has nothing to do with them dispatching discs.
