I have a number of video files that are in separate parts. When I try and joing them all together using a programme called "easy video joiner",I always seems to lost the sound COMPLETELY in the file with all the parts joined together. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and if I should be using a different programme to join my video files together?
    thanks guys

Joining video files that were encoded seperately can be hit and miss. If it was originally one large video file and someone split it up then it can go back together more reliably sometimes. What type of video files are these anyway, mpeg, avi (divx or xvid), wmv?

There are a number of formats that I have however the one that I try and join the most is Xvid and I lose the sound on it most of the time

There is a program called Virtualdub which you can open an AVI in and then append more clips to it. This has always worked for me when joing xvid or divx files. You could have a look on www.doom9.org for tutorials too, there's quite a lot of useful video editing stuff there.

This newbie friendly program tends to work well most of the time however it is a commercial product.

You could always try Windows Movie Maker. Does the job. Should be already installed on your computer if you have XP.
