With all the fuss of David Beckham going to LA Galaxy, do Sky or Setanta have the rights to Major League Soccer?? Or are we about to see these rights hoovered up rapidly??

Who in their right mind would want to watch the American league anyway

Just cos David Beckham is going out there doesn't mean it's a good league.

He will be on 5 times more money than the rest of LA Galaxy's players put together. That tells you something about the quality of players they currently have playing in the MLS.

sicken Sky? i think not. whoever gets these rights will be getting them at bargain basement prices as i dont think anyone will give a rattling **** about them. NASN used to show MLS and that didnt last long. most people in this part of the world i think couldn't give a **** about it
hopefully not as the money to buy these would be a complete waste. five currently show US soccer on their five US channel

It's a bit different to when Gazza went to Lazio and Channel 4 snapped up the rights. Michael Grade initially only planned to show Gazza's first game live but interest was so high they bought exclusive rights. However US football doesn't have the star power of Van Basten, Gullit, Baggio and Batistuta et cetra.

A weekly highlights show like I think they have with the K-League could work so people could dip in and out of it. But I figure - unless there is a mass exodus of top stars - interest in Beckham's US career will pique for only a short time.
