The verse chords appear to be all barre: G E A D. But what effects are used to get such a sharp and individual sound?

The verse has two guitars both playing high voicings of those chords. Other than what sounds like a Tele on its bridge pick-up on the one on the right speaker and a slightly higher gain one on the left the only effects just technique and the choice of voicings. He's playing some sort of rockabilly rifff by arpegiating the first three chords and something like this on the D:

    10--8-7----|
    |-/11
    9-7----|

Other than that he's using tight left hand muting to keep the whole thing funky.

I'll try figure it out if you can't get it from that waffle if you like?
