Looking for recommendations as to what backup hardware would be best for my requirements:

    I use a laptop
Just need to backup Documents & Emails
Fairly light user (need to backup a few GB)

You could write to CD or DVD or copy to a usb memory stick or external hard drive.

You could also consider an on-line solution - I have a seperate gmail account which I use for archiving my emails, documents etc.

There are also companies that wil give you on-line backup / storage for a few bob a month.

For emails, address book and settings I use MozBackup.

Get an external DVD drive back it all up to DVDs and store in a safe place.
