you can get a scart adapter that you can plug the yellow, white and red cables into

something like this (or even a simpler version of)

yeah have that and plugged the AV out cable from Archos into the ext scart connection on the tv

Then when I switch to ext on the remote either a blue screen or black screen no picture or sound ?

Worked on my previous tv but not this one ?

hmmm sry but cant suggest anything else I'm afraid. Given the tv is new I would imagine its a simple enough problem to fix. Hopefully someone else is on that can help you

There is a colour-coded SCART adapter in the ARCHOS box (assuming you bought it new and/or 2nd hand but complete).

I can't access your TV specs (getting 504 error), so basic troubleshoot below.

    Red>Red
    White>White
    Yellow>Yellow
Plug scart adapter male end in TV scart female socket.
    (duh, I know...)

    Next -
    (i) are you selecting "TV" in the AV420 display menu (or pressing the slim silver button on top right of AV420 for a few secs)?
(ii) have you checked what type of signal your AV420 is outputting? (can't remember but I think you can select PAL or NTSC - make sure it's PAL if your TV is PAL)
(iii) have you checked what type of signal your TV is looking for thru scart? e.g. PAL or NTSC? or is it automatic?

Was using the scart adapter got with it

However got another one from the € shop which had a switch between in and output and this did the trick

    Thanks
