Chuck (The Iceman) Liddell and Tito Ortiz received a combined US$460,000 in purse money for their UFC 66 mixed martial arts title bout in Las Vegas on the weekend, according to figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Liddell, the light-heavyweight champion, received $250,000 for his third-round TKO while Ortiz earned $210,000.
Total purse for the 18-fighter card was $767,000,
Does anyone think chuck should try and do a couple of boxing matches as the fans would definetly be interested and i believe he could easily earn 5-10 million for a fight?
He's getting on and the money has to stop somewhere-chucks boxing skills are pretty good aswell so he might do o'k..

That’s the basic purse that chuck won. You can add on a win bonus from UFC ( most likely the same as the purse again ) win bonus's from sponsors and a cut from the pay per view sales as well. All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if Chuck earned about 2 million from his fight.

Now that’s not to say that 2 million is the same as 5 million, but that’s a more realistic view of what he would have earned I feel. Would Chuck do well in boxing? I don't know, it strikes me that he has trained for MMA for a long, long time and the reason he has done so is because he wants to fight MMA, not boxing?

Hard to see how he would earn 5-10 million for a fight Cowzerp unless it was a title fight and he was champion and politics alone would keep him away from that for a couple of years at least.
I reckon he is doing well with purses and endorsements at the moment and he probably anly has a couple more years at the top so maybe a switch in discipline would be foolish.

Dana White is the man making the real purse! ;-)

Chucks style works well for him against the guys he fights in the UFC but I'd doubt it would against high level boxers.

Money talks in boxing and chuck fighting would generate a lot of interest from fight fans from boxing and mma-thats why i believe he could earn a decent purse-also chuck had no win bonus but did get a deal about the ppv and all in he got 1 million dollars before tax-nice if you can get it. This is just an interesting idea-nothing more..i just think his style is basically boxing anyway with sprawls..i suppose he wont be poor either way!!

He gets a cut of the pay per view as well. Add on a couple of million to his purse. Why would he box for twelve rounds when he can knock someone out inside 1 round in the UFC. Less than 5 minutes and he's off home with somwhere in the region of 2 million.:D

Cowzerp, the UFC uses a vareity of ways and means to pay its fighters.

Notably, giving them cars. They also sponsor them through xyience and fighters make large figures through that. What is declared to the SAC is not the complete figure.

It would be highly unusual for a fighter not to get paid in the x to show, x to win format i.e a win bonus.

I can't see Chuck being competitive in boxing at a comparable level to the one he fights at now.

    Peace

Apparently Tito walked away with over $3m (€2.3m) so I imagine Chuck got even more. Both guys got a % deal of the PPV and it was the biggest UFC PPV sale to date.

Chuck's clock would be cleaned by any mid-level boxer, let alone world champions. Btw, both Chuck & Tito made well over a million each for their fight. They take their fight purse and a cut of the ppv profits.
