It should be 600KB up rather than 512KB.

Sadly, my line can't handle much more than 5 - 5.5Mbps, so I won't be able to avail of that (which is a good price IMO).

Still, the standard 4Mbps is grand for now (just need more upload speed).

Have you enquired about doubling your upload for an extra €5?

Feck - I've a crap/long phone line too.....maxes out at 2.8 most of the time :( .....no 8mb speed for me unless I pay eircom the line rental for 2 more lines.

Still, I've already got the fastest available to me, so guess I shouldn't complain..

I just wish Smart had enough money to put out even a couple of adverts saying "Get Smart Broadband......4 times faster than eircom for the same price (and 192 times faster if all your neighbours are online)!"

Gotta hand it to 'em, though.....still firing out the best options despite cashflow problems, eircom's tactics and false advertising and a regulator & government with as much clout and willingness to act as.....a pornstar ?

8mb............jayas.....................this is the problem with this contorys bb services. the best way to combat it imo is to block any speed upgrades until 100 percent[or whats possible] is achieved for bb

Are you saying that the problem with this country's broadband service is that some companies supply a great service for a respectable price? What would you expect to achieve by effectively banning the BB companies from competing with each other? Is that what you really want? Would you like all prices and speeds to be frozen from now until whenever they get broadband available to that sheep in the back arse of nowhere* with no phonelines around?

I'm just wondering why you find it so terrible that a BB company would think of offering such a good package.

    * no offence to anyone who does live in the back arse of nowhere with no phone lines around ;)

I wish the Smart was available on the Palmerstown exchange :( or BT upgraded
    their upload.

Is there any company offering a better service for the same price at the moment ?

I just wish they could get out too all exchanges and put the pressure on eircom and all the others too actually provide a decent broadband package

Using the statistics page on my Netgear Modem/Router, it says of my connection
Line Attenuation: Down 15 db Up 5.5 db Noise Margin: Down 20 db Up 16 db
Would this be OK to supply an 8Mb/s supply?
