Just nosing about there looking at Ibanezes. GAS building up for some reason. Just remembered seeing one like this in Ad Lib in Carlow, exact model (RG1550SA) and colour (metalic sangria: much more visible metalic flake in the flesh) going for €1300 at the time. It was there for ages. Might still be there in fact! Anyway, what I was wondering, if it was still there, would this be a completely astronomical price to pay? I coudn't find any like in on Ishi and from what I can gather off the ibanez site this exact model is no longer available.
I would try haggle as it would be getting annoying having an axe just sitting there. Got €100 off my RGT-42FM a few years back. (900 ->800)

I just really like that look is all. :(

Theres a second hand one on adverts for 750 odd. (its a RG550, but is pretty similar).

The closest existing model to it is the RG2550. Not maple, but otherwise close in terms of hardware, pickups etc. Goes for about E1000 on thomann. E1300 is a big mark up, but is pretty normal for Irish shops. Its a pretty standard price for what the RG1550 used to go for.

Personally, id think you were an idiot if you spent E1300 on that guitar, but it's your money, and if you have to have it, fair enough. I can point you in the direction of Ibanez's that are substantially better guitars for a good bit less money.

Cool, cheers. RG550 looks grand. Let the fund organisation/justification begin!!

No bother. The fret finishing and fingerboard edge-radiusing improved a little between the RG550 and RG1550, but otherwise is pretty much the same guitar (trem aside - depending on the year, the 1550 may have a different trem).
