Ruling Please?

Playing 20 euro rebuy and after the break (freezeout period) this hand occurerd.
Board shows XX345 with three hearts.
On the river player B raised all in, Player A asks player B if he has the straight, player B says he does and player A calls the all in, saying "If you have a flush I win the pot because you declared your hand to be a straight" Player A shows 67 and player B shows Qh2h. He has a flush aswell as a straight.

The pot was awarded to the flush, Player B. Then the player A(67) started shouting and complaining to the TD. I thought the ruling was correct, as the winning hand contained a flush and a straigght so he didn't incorrectly declare his hand. Player A said he only called because the pot could not be awarded to a flush.

What are peoples opinions? I think most people will agree with the ruling but what about asking "have you got a straight?" Part of the game? I realise you don't have to answer, but it seems poor sportsmanship if you are going to try win on a ruling with a worse hand?

Player A needs to be given Chinese Burns and a wedgie.

Player A is an idiot, and it's areally big storm in a teacup. No matter what he thinks, if he has the worst hand he cnnot be awarded the pot under any circumstances, barring player B mucking his cards.

    hahah that is v funny.
The cards always speak. It doesnt matter if the bloke says all I have is an itchy bag !!
Guy going mad is a pure muppet and should have been thrown down the stairs and the process repeated until limbs started falling off.

Ya thats what I thought, I'll suggest that this player should be thrown down the stairs next time I'm in the club.
I thought it was hilarious, he went completly over the top, shouting and saying "you'd want to sort out the rules in here". Nobody in there, even his buddies agreed with him though!
