Maybe this is not the most appropiate board for posting tihs, but as the guitars are some of the most valuable items I want to move... Anyway, the story is, I sadly have to promptly end my stay in this green Irish land, I must come back home in sunny Spain because of some sad familiar issues. So now I have a small rented room full os stuff I want to take home, including an incredible acoustic (by the Spanish brand Alhambra, I can't recommend their Spanish guitars enough!), and the new "tone machine", the Edwards LP.

Thing is, I have a hard case for the acoustic, which was sent from Spain via a courier company, but I don't have a hard case for the electric yet, should I get one, apart from the compulsory tons of bubble wrap a la Ishibashi?

Apart from that I'n confused about the best way to get the stuff to my house, what will be better, checking them in the plane? Aer Lingus will ask 8 euro per kilo. Using An Post for the less valuable stuff such as books and clothes? Any cheap and reliable courier you can recommend? I don't know much about Irish companies in that business...

I want to use this post as a farewell to the Instruments boards too, I learnt a lot with you guys, and had great craic as well!

Sorry to hear of your troubles dude, good luck with the move.

You can still log in from Spain you know ;)

You can use the likes of An Post to send guitars to Spain, just pack them well. I've got a few guitars from abroad without hard cases, just packed in lots of bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard shell. It might be worth checking with the An Post to see how much they charge per kilo then compare with Aer Lingus.

Good luck Les-Paul, as J said, you can always log on to boards and shoot the **** with us Instruments types.

Id say you'd get a much better deal if you go to UPS or DHL or something, pack all your stuff up in some big boxes on pallets with a load of bubble wrap. They might charge per pallet instead of per kilo.

Hey that's a great tip... too bad I'm already back in Spain! I posted some things through An Post and checked the rest in the plane. So the Edwards has now been in 3 countries in less than 2 months!
