insurance & normal insurance

    Anyone know if you have to have a current insurance policy running to get a classic insurance on another vehicle. Im trying to work out if it's possible to just use the vintage vehicle.. i guess it's not that simple but worth the question..

    To get an actual classic policy you need to either have your own policy on a regular car, or be a named driver on a spouse's car. At least that's what I discovered when I was in the same boat as you. First Ireland (and maybe others) will insure your classic as a main car, but the cost will be closer to a regular policy than a classic one.

    no i have'nt bought yet.. its just an engine on a chasis at the moment! im 28 so age should'nt be a problem. and i have fully comp on my own car for a few years also. Any idea how they stand on using classic jeeps to tow stuff..
