I was going through the motions over at play.com today, looking to order a **** load of DVDs (as usual) and then once I get to the 'checkout' stage it informs me that play.com no longer ship ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE UK.

WTF?

I've bought hundreds of DVDs from this crowd over the years and they have never had a problem shipping to Dublin... so what's going on?

Anyone know what's changed or why the sudden shift in policy? I've emailed play.com but no response as yet.

Where you trying to get electronic goods or gadgets shipped? They don't ship those outside the UK anymore. Ordinary DVDs should be fine though.

We can't buy in £sterling anymore. Change to €euro and it will work.

Were you in Sterling or Euro?

They'll only take orders outside the UK in Euro these days.

EDIT:

Oh and careful with a big order... there are some customs and tax issues with play these days too.
