    Hi folks,

I'm doing a paper on concrete, i have to do a section on the chemical properties of concrete but my mind has hit a complete blank.....

I'm not sure what to discuss in it, if anyone can throw some light on the subject , it would be great!

Mods, move this if it isn't the right place, i thought engineering would be best!

Chemical properties? Try corrosion (rain) , or heat, or ? Look up a concrete book. Probably been done before, there are thousands of Universities doing papers on Concrete.

Well chemical properties....do you mean the chemical make up of the cement or just the composition of the concrete?

In the first case, you could just write about the chemistry of the cement, how this affects hydration rates, and alternatives and additions to cement like fuel ash and slag etc.

For concrete - there is plenty to rabbit on about like aggregate size, water/cement ratio, admixtures, temperature...etc and how these all affect workability and strength.
