    Mods please delete if this is getting a bit too much but just wanted to start a new thread to let student players know about this

    If any players do not have credit/laser cards but you want to play in the National Student Poker Championships, RDS, Concert Hall, Ballsbridge, D4 on Jan 27th.....You can lodge your entry fee using Paypoint (easier than paying a phone bill)....
    http://www.paypoint.ie/locator.htm will help you find a nearby outlet.

    I know everyone is busy with exams but if you have a little bit of spare time it will get sorted very easily and you will be ready to play.

    If you would like to know more about how paypoint works when registering Please follow these steps:
    Go to pacificpoker.com
    -->
    click on Help & Support
    -->
    click on Accepted Deposit methods on the left menu side.
    -->
    look for preferred deposit method and click on "learn how".

    Surely the offer of a possible grand is worth taking a few minutes of all that "studying"

    I've been told by the powers that be in Pacific that you can definitely use Paypoint but I will find out exactly how tomorrow morning.

    I really have put an awful lot of effort into this tournament and thats why I've been so worried that it wouldn't get the support of the players - lazy ass students.

    Imagine if there was an event like this once a month even.....For a small buy-in with a WSOP structure, dealers, 100% payout etc.....It would bring lots more people into the game and improve things for all of us (with regard to public perception of the game and all that....)

    I know its a hassle asking players to register like this but I'm willing to push everyone through it kicking and screaming if needs be......:cool:

    Hi Stephen,

    Hope you are well.

    With regards payment through paypoint I was just wondering what it is I must do/say at the paypoint location to register my money across?

    Im very interested in paying this way and plan on popping down to my local credit union tomorro but unfortunatly the staff down there couldn't be desribed as "helpful" as they simply havnt got over the fact that the oul "book of stamps" is gone.

    They try their best but id have more luck asking about mrs. smiths' grand-daughter who's up to no good with that new plumber than trying to register for the student poker champs. The poor dears dont understand phone credit let alone pay point id imagine! (Sorry for the blab-Just wondering what I must say to transfer the money... 888.com is it?)

    Hi Gar,

    Very interesting story, ok to avoid hearing about Mrs. Smith and co have a read of this.....[The one unfortunate thing about this method is that you have to pretend that you are from the UK, lol.....But its just for a minute.]

    The long story short here is that you need to purchase a Paypoint e-voucher for Pacific Poker worth €75 (just to be sure) and then you will instantly have you monees online.

    In order to Deposit to your Pacific Poker Account, you must be registered as a Money Play Member. To join Pacific Poker for the purposes of playing in the National Student Champs' visit www.pokerireland.ie ...... If you already have a Pacific Poker Money Play Account, please follow the instructions below.
    To place a deposit using PayPoint e-Voucher:

    1. Visit any PayPoint location and purchase an e-Voucher for Pacific Poker.
    2. Choose the PayPoint deposit option, by clicking on the "PayPoint" button in the Pacific Poker Cashier.

    *If you did not register your Pacific Poker account with United Kingdom as your country of residence you will need to click on 'More Deposit Options'. Select United Kingdom from the drop down menu and then choose PayPoint.

    3. Select the e-Voucher option and click on "Continue".
    4. Enter your e-Voucher number and the amount you paid at the PayPoint location. Your payment will be instantly approved.

    The limits for PayPoint e-Voucher are:
    Minimum Single PayPoint Deposit Amount: $30 (approx. £17)
    Maximum Single PayPoint Deposit Amount: £249 (approx. $455)

    Depositing by PayPoint e-Voucher is free of charge.

    The instructions give two ways to do it. Print off a pacific poker invoice and bring that down to the paypoint and pay €72 to that, or buy a €72 voucher from the paypoint desk and lodge it through the cashier on the software.

    Hopefully this is possible from ireland as the vouchers could essentielly be tickets at the satelites

    Mellor you are a genius.....If this is possible it will mean that I can take cash off of people too and give them the paypoint tickets.

    Hi all,

    Don't think Paypoint can actually be used like this in Ireland.....Only UK.

    However my spirits have been lifted again.

    U-kash vouchers.

    The exact same idea as Paypoint except it actually works.

    If anybody would like to give me €72 cash send me an email and I will send out the voucher to you. There are shops located all over the country that sell them too..... www.ukash.com so if you want to buy them yourself please feel free.

    I will be heading out to colleges during the week so please let me know if you can organise a few people to get together in college for 5 minutes and get registered for what will be a fantastic tournament.

    I could be wrong but I think Ukash may only do vouchers in the amounts of €30, €50 and €100 - that's what I gathered at the website...

    Cheers legend.

    Hi all,

    Ok just wanted to let everyone know that I will be in DCU - the hub - on Tuesday to help players get signed up to this event.

    I will also be in DIT Aungier Street on Wednesday at the €5 re-buy crap shoot.

    I will be there with my laptop and with ukash vouchers so you can literally pay me cash and I will do the rest or you can take the ukash vouchers home and register yourself.

    If you are intersted in meeting me there to sign up please email stephen@pokerireland.ie or ring/text 087 24 24 626.

    Unfortunately ukash vouchers only come in units of €30/€50/€100 so anyone wishing to play in this event will have to pay €90 and then have approx $45 in their Pacific account while being registered to play in the Student Champs' on Jan 27th in the RDS.

    If you would like to buy a ukash voucher yourself you can visit any of these places in Dublin city and ask for them;
    SPAR LIFFEY ST
    SPAR LR ABBEY ST
    SUPER VALU ASTON QUAY
    CENTRA CAMDEN ST
    NO 8 BAGGOTT ST
    SPAR ASHTOWN
    LUCKY DUFFY PARNELL ST

    I just used one which I bought in the Spar on Liffey Street to lodge money and it really was very easy so this method is 100% sure to work.....

    Can't someone get a 50 and a 30 to pay 80?? That's only another extra 8 Euro but this tourney was already pushing the very upper limit of my willing expenditure and I don't want to have to pay 10% more than others. I know the money left to play on Pacific Poker won't be used as my PC is ridiculously old and the software keeps freezing in the lobby...

    Is there no method to transfer money from 1 player's account to another? I have neither passport/driving license/credit card so other options aren't gonna work...

    I'll be there on Wednesday in Aungier St. to play the crapshoot.

    The last time I went to try to get a ukash voucher (I think they were new enough then, but you could use them to deposit to Prima) I tried 6 shops in Dublin 4 and 6, all of them were listed on the website but none of them could sell me the voucher. Obviously Stephen has found at least one shop that works, but don't take the website info as gospel.

    Correctomondo......I spent about two hours yesterday trawling around Dublin before I found them......I basically rang ukash and asked them were had they're vouchers been used in the last 24 hours. All of these shops were on the list.

    Hopefully this comes in handy for lots of players not just for the Student Champs'

    Good point.....It was late and I was tired when I posted this.....I knew there was a better way.....€80 it is. Good spot Legend, see you on Wednesday.

    Just to re-cap Carfax.....does the postpoint E-Voucher system work??
    Because i've checked out their website, and there is no mention of E-Vouchers. Do you know of anyone who's successfully done it??

    Hi,

    No Paypoint doesn't work....I was misinformed. We all have to move to the UK to be able to get e-vouchers.

    Ukash definitely does work though.....Sorry about the misinformation.
