Sales Targets

    Hi there,

I'm in a sales role at the moment and am quiet good at my job. We all have sales targets at the end of the quater. Everyone has different targets depending on their level of sales over the last year. Because I'm top sales person in the company at the moment my targets are quiet high.

My question is should all staff targets been the same level or do they change depending on the level of sales you bring in.

    Thanks

High targets are a vote of confidence. However how does the high target affect your compensation. You should not be selling more than othe rpeople and earning less.

if your selling more you bonus should be bigger, otherwise they are taking advantage of you

Regardless of business targets are set for the individuals (or possibly groups) to achieve, hence they would all be dependant on skills and previous performance. Hence no, I don't see why everyone should be at the same level for targets, obviously as noted by previous posters your rewards (be they monetary or othervice) should also reflect this higher performance (and if not sit down and talk with your manager about it).
