Does anybody know where in Dublin that you can get Beer Lao?

I know Euro Beers in Cork supply it to about 8 places in Dublin but I have no idea where.

It's often called the best beer in the world.

I have never seen it but am always suspicious of beers claiming to be (probably) the best beer in the world, or anything like that.

Ratebeer.com has it rated at 6% and most people seem to say it's a typical watery lager. Unsurprising as the company is 75% owned by the Laotian government and 25% by Carlsberg.

it's a decent beer (i drank it in laos) but it's nowhere near being the best beer in the world, it's a fairly standard german style lager (bitburger/warsteiner).

Try Carvells on Camden Street or Redmonds (I think that's the name) in Ranelagh - near the triangle.

Just to put that in context, a little: a lot of standard lagers score low on ratebeer. To score high you have to be able to stand a spoon in the beer, and have whole hop cones floating around in it.

But anyone who claims to be (probably/defenitely) the best beer in the world is asking for trouble.

I drank it in Laos, also, it's pretty drinkable as lagers go. The Dark stuff is much better though. I'd say it's one of the best S.E. Asian beers, nowhere near the best in the world though.

    Thanks all.

Just for the record, I don't think the manufacturers claim it to be the best beer in the world -probably, ho, ho ho; it's often claimed to be by tourists to Laos.
