Electric Storage or Conventional Rad in Attic Conversion

I'm getting my attic converted soon, I have gas heating in the house at present. The person doing the conversion has suggested I go for an Electric storage heater in the attic instead of a standard Radiator as it will work out a lot cheaper, he said something about having to install a new pump for a standard radiator running off the gas.

Has anybody any experiences with either or any idea which is better, I'd always thought electric storage heaters were expensive to run.

They are more expensive to run if you don't have a night rate meter, which you'd have to get to take advantage of the cheaper electricity. Furthermore, storage heaters aren't as flexible as rads, and don't do as good a job IMO - and I'm using them the last 5 years.

    Go with a standard rad

Seconded. I've had both. Get a standard. Storage heating is crap.
