    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a handyman type (with insurance) to remove a redundant dish from the chimney of a 2 story semi-d - sandyford dublin 18 area - thanks. No legal issues - my house, my dish etc.

    Regards,
    Jim.

Hi Jim, what size is the dish approximately? is it big or like a small sky dish? anymore details about dish and I may know someone who could take it down for free.

    Hi Cash,

I'm not that well up on dishes, but I would guess no they're (two - one back, above bedroom window, one attached to chimney at front of house) not Sky dishes, or certainly not the square ones that seem common at the moment - they look about 10 years old - diameter approx 1.5 to 2 feet. I'm not sure they would be useful for anything - they were left there by the old owner - I would think he would have taken them if they were worth anything as he took almost everything else bar (some of) the light bulbs ...

They may work for free BBC/ITV/Film4.

I tried them with a tv when I moved in and had no NTL and couldn't get much with them - could get a better RTE etc. with nothing plugged in - you probably need some decoder box with them.
