Tricky spot with trips

    Tribeca (.50/1), 6 handed

Hero has $83 and is BB
Villain has $234 and is UTG

Villlain has been playing TAG, seems OK and has not been caught out of line.

    Hero is dealt 7c6s

Villain limps UTG (he has done this quite a few times recently), SB completes and Hero checks. Pot is $3.

    Flop is 6d 5c 4d

    SB checks
    Hero checks
    Villain bets $4

SB folds. Hero calls $4 with TP and OESD. Pot now $11.

Turn is a tasty 6c giving hero trips and OESD.

    Hero checks.
    Villain bets $8
    Hero check-raises to $16

Villain pumps his entire stack in

Hero has to either call his remaining $62 into a $100 pot or...fold.

    Anyone find a fold here?

Thoughts and comments please on all streets.....

Hard to fold here, but in a way I hope you lost and take it as a lesson not to check minraise.

    Hero checks.

    Hero check min-raises to $16

did u decide to skip .25/.50?

I'd probably fold here, mainly cause I don't like getting my stack across the line in a pot this size when there's a decent chance I'm beat, possible he limped with 55/78.

Is this one of those posts hero is villian villian is hero kinda thing?
It seems outta character for you to check min raise?
Im probably wrong but I think your the guy who raised all in.

I would be amazed if the Hero in this hand is Stuntman, check min-raising the turn (this would be bad)? El Stunt Challenge upto .50/1 already (this would be good/ impressive)?

EDIT: I also don't think he's the Villain
Villain limps UTG (he has done this quite a few times recently)
And so that brings an end to my Sherlock Holmes impression. and onto the Hand....

On the hand in particular. If I was Hero I'd have lead the flop, and gone from there, and certainly never check min-raise the turn and so wouldn't really ever be in a similar situation to begin with, but as played I'd call the All-In.

ha, I am so fcuking transparent!! (well spotted Smurph & others)

of course I was the villain in this hand....forget about the merits of limping UTG before you all shout at me:) (was changing gears down after some fairly vicious savaging of the blinds)

I had 44 for a flopped set and turned boat and put 'Hero' either on 6x or a straight (correctly as it turned out)

He agonised for ages (he's a weak-tight nit and I had been waiting to put him to a decision for all his chips for a while) and finally made a crying call.

The result is unimportant (he rivered a seven) as I got all his chips in while miles ahead.... , just wanted to see what the consensus was regarding his check min-raise (obv. awful) and his call/fold decision to my all-in

Ste05, was just taking a shot at .50/1 as I am bored silly with the outdrawing muppets on .10/.20 and wanted to play something vaguely resembling 'real' poker for once. Bankroll pushing $1300 so will be up to .25/.50 soon for good and will continue taking shots as it keeps me sane

True dat, it really can be soul destroying grinding the lower levels, I'm absolutely hating it at the minute (even at .50/1 it's a nightmare) and having a tough time motivating myself to play at all.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll get suitably abused about your limping UTG policy so I'll leave that to others.

(EDIT: Sorry I couldn't help myself) P.S. I'm still clinging to the hope that this whole thread is a wind up. El Stuntman, really, Limping UTG and then Check Min-Raising with a Set. Could you get any Fishier... Come on..... I'd probably buddy list you. :D I think you might have developed Tribecitis down in the squalor of .10/.20 .

Would you not move up now Stunt seeing as you have 2000 bb's for 25/50c

I didn't check min-raise!! (although I was actually tempted by the evil poker fairy who whispered in my ear "min-raise his check min-raise"!) Would have been a notable poker moment I think but I nobly resisted and shoved LOL

his name is Imagineer, feel free to buddy him

I developed some kind of wierd fixation with getting 3000 BBs together for it but have 2900 including my RB now so bye bye .10/.20, thanks be to Allah

I'll be coming after Phantom Lord at .25/.50 now!! $2500 is the target roll for .50/1....

Is that who it was? I tangled with him a few times at 10/20c last month. Calling station under notes.

:o:o:o Phew, I don't know how I got that all fcuked in my head, Actually apart from the UTG limp, (which is excusable) you played it well, although a min-re-raise would have rocked :D:D .

Haven't come across Imagineer yet, I'll keep an eye out for him,
