Well, I'm trying to burn a number of .iso files to dvd and the dvd writer no longer finalises the process. I've tried with a number of programs all to no avail. Anyone with experience of this and how it can be fixed?

    Thanks
    Pa

Is it up to date Firmware wise, is the media being used good quality, there could be a number of factors, also what make and model of burner is it?

The dvd writer is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K14. It's been burning no bother for the last number of months and just lately bombed out. I've been using the same pack of blank discs as well. I'll try updating any drivers to see if that'll work.

Has it clocked up a lot of burns?

Have you tried to burn anything other then .iso files? & has that failed too?

It may be that it has run it's course & needs to be replaced.

They're not that expensive anymore & are very straight forward to replace.

That could turn out to be the wiser move & save you a lot of grief too!

I've just burnt the same iso image file to a philips dvd +rw disk, no problem at all. Tried a verbatim dvd+r disk but no luck there. I havnt burnt a huge amount so i doubt it needs to be changed. burnt cds no bother at all. really wrecking my head the way its just stopped working out of the blue

Try on the problem disc, but burn at a slower speed to see if it makes any difference.

Sounds like the burner could be dead, a new burner might be neccesary, a while back the Starforce copy protection caused burners to die, google boycott starforce and see if you installed a game in the list, removing these drivers may help but other than that I am not sure
