Buy4Now Beware

Just wanted to alert/share my experiences with them. I ordered some items as Christmas gifts on first week of December and when I had'nt received them in the run-up to Christmas, I called them. Was told the internet manager for the affiliated store was already on his holiday and they would get back to me on 2 January. In the meantime I decided I wanted a refund as I had to buy presents to replace the ones that didn't arrive and I was already peeved at their laissez-faire attitude.

So I call on 3 January, and was told the refund would be processed with 24 hours, no problem sir, thank you very much. Got a call from the agent the following day to confirm it. Did'nt bother checking my account until yesterday, just assumed they refunded. So I call them this morning and was told by some guy he would look into it and somebody would call me back during the day.

No call, so I ring them again at 8:30 this evening. Told refund was processed today. When I said I have already been told this once before, was told by the customer service agent that it "wasnt his problem" and 'they' were lying to me when they said refund was made on 3 January. Told him it wasnt personal, but I would like his name as I was getting tired of nobody taking responsibility. He replied with an indigant "NO!" but caved in on the 3rd attempt when he realised I would also be complaining about his attitude.

That was my first and last experience with them.

Personally I'd never use Buy4now, to me they typify a selection of Irish
retailers who jumped on the dotcom bandwagon some years back without
really knowing what they are doing or having a proper e-commerce strategy
in place - how else can they explain letting an internet manager for an b2c
site go on holidays in the run up to Christmas. Shows how important they
view their online customers having no-one in charge at the busiest time of year
    - could you see Amazon, play.com or similar companies behaving like this?
Wouldnt surprise me if the 'internet manager' was a part-time student who
prints off the orders at night for processing manually the next day
or if the secretary/receptionist looks after 'them there funny interweb orders
    thingies'.

There are plenty of real e-commerce companies out there who know how
to run a shop online. Heck, I placed orders with numerous e-tailers in UK, Hong
Kong and mainland Europe in early December and they all arrived in time for
Christmas. Difference being these are shops who focus on on-line orders
and see it as part of their business and not a gimmick/inconvenience.

I have dealt with Buy4Now a few times and found that many of the things meant to be in stock weren't there at all. I was left waiting several times by Easons who didn't bother contacting me to let me know where my stuff was. I called them at one point wondering if it had been shipped and was told it was out of stock and they were waiting to hear from me incase I still wanted the item. Of course I wanted the item!:(

I have experienced several orders like Ruu. Site says all in stock ready to ship you wait a week and nothing. All you get is an email saying sorry "we don't have that in stock and we should have it in 3 to 4 weeks!"
