As far as I can see there is a lot of talk of where to buy but very little buying and selling going on here.

As far as I can tell most other airsoft forums have a "sticky" classifieds section for trading airsoft among members.

I ask because I'm interested in getting an aeg or something similar but, like many others I'm sure, am hesitant to drop the required 200+ euros to get such a thing.
As it being brand new is of little significance to me, being a sort bit of a handy maintanece man myself, I'd like to see the available second hand options.
I've got an old gas gun, a S&W m645, non blowback but it works on co2, holds 13 or so 6mm bb's, and I'd be willing to trade that for something new.

I'd really like one of the m14s out at the moment or m1garand, I just like the look of that style, less so the mp5s and m4s, but do like the ultra modern ergonomic look of the p90.

If anyone has an old gun like mine they dont want why not post it here for a trade or for sale as alot of people dont want to buy the brand new stuff yet.
And if anyone has a resonably priced aeg why not advertise here, especially an m1 or m14 :D

I think the reason we dont really have anything being sold as of yet is simply because the sport is so new in the country that well, there really isnt too much old stuff yet :D

If you want a second hang AEG, as of now the only place you'll see them popping up is over on ASI. But, if they're a decent brand, which most are, you won't be getting them *that* cheap.

If you really *really* don't want to spend 200+, then the only other option at the moment is clones.

This level on interest in literally 5 mins

This will be made a sticky methinks!

As it should be naturally, my best springer was second hand, mid 80's thing, brilliantly made and the only gun that is still perfect despite regular use, and its because I know good old guns are out there I put up this thread.

I dont think you will get the sort of thing you are after as most of whats being sold is new stuff because as was already said, its a new hobby in the south. if you are looking for a particular gun/price range let me know and i'll try find you something new if you want.

    Is it a springer pistol?

See, most of those old guns out there are fine for an oul plink in the garden, but you'll be torn to shreds in a skirmish.

If they're that old and decent guns, they *could* be collectible. I know old gas/co2 aegs are. But my knowledge on the subject would be very very slim.

I think your best bet if you really want to get into the sport is just save up and get a decent AEG.

Mine, plus all extras like battery, postage and such came to €260.
Might sound a little expensive. But when you go to a game and see some of the hardware other people are packing, you'll be glad of it ;)

    Probably not an aeg then.

I'll admit I've had these few guns before the new legislaion, whoops...
but maybe there are a few around.

As far as an aeg goes, a decent condition spring rifle would be good for me, as i like the look of m1garands and m14s, I'd even be happy with one of the bolt opperated jobs.
If I liked the gun I probably would spend 100 or more on it if I could get what I wanted.

I can see this is getting off-topic though and I think we should concentrate on getting a classifieds section up and running for exactly this kind of thing.

Well, as soon as unwanted guns start appearing in peoples armories, I'm sure it will happen.
Wouldnt count on it happening any time soon though.

This is the best you're going to get for the moment

Plus thanks to oisin, that link was also helpful.

If that link to gunnersairsoft interested you, just to let you know, there's a guy in Ireland stocking some of those guns. For decent prices. So you wont have to pay the horrible shipping.

He's not ready to sell yet. But he hopefully will be soon. Just sorting some stuff out...

Be excellent for a nice budget AEG. especially the aks. As I think i mentioned somewhere else. I quite want one myself.

Just remember that its exactly that, airsoft on a budget and although they will be good, they wont last as long as the higher end gear. great for beginners but not a long term option.

i was gonna say that there was a guy setting up here supplying the guns that are on gunners.

With reference to the previous mention of possibly collectable airsoft guns, I have a yonezawa, a company formerly prominant that no longer exists according to wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Airsoft_manufacturers

Does anyone know any collectors who may be interested in such guns?

He doesnt have any as of yet. No. I'm going to ask at some point if it is possible for him to import some more. Including the m14. So, fingers crossed :D

Yup, the KG9. Civilian version is called the Tec-9. although, with a bit of tampering, you could convert it back to a full auto. hence all the gang use in America.

I'm the same, I love menacing looking guns. Havent a clue why.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

tec-9 is my fave Machine Pistol of all time. dunno why but i think its the drilled barral or something.

That spectre looks like something out of an Ecscape from New York film or something. like it was welded together by Mr-T or somebody.

You going to get one? Go on ;) Not something you see around every day.

At some point, you're going to have a total seizure as you wont be able to figure out which airsoft gun to bring to a skirmish.

    I know I would.

id love to get the tec9 but the mags are 50 a piece and its a shell ejecting gun so would be firing at people then running around picking up the shells again.couldnt use it in a skirmish. would love it as a collection piece though.

    Shell ejection? eeek

That idea seems to be more hassle then it's worth.

Exactly, imagine unloading 2/3 mags out the window of a building n the village then having to go and collect all the shells.

Heres a pic showing how it works....kindof :

Ha ha, those pictures are from one of the very first Marui catalogues. That is what got me into Airsoft back in 1988. My friend went with his Dad over to the Harrigate toy fair and saw those in action. I still have the catalogue at home some where.
