    Hi all,
I tried converting a DVD to .avi format using Auto Gordian Knot. For some reason when I play it back there is no audio. I checked the official website and was bamboozled by the jargon. Can anybody tell me in layman's terms what I can do to get audio?
    Thanks.

Only started using GK myself recently.

Bit messy to get going but once you have it set up once, tis indeed very good.

I didn't use it to rip the dvd. I had already done that so my usage is based on the dvd vob files already on my hdd.

Run this from the 'Ripping' tab. It creates the .dv2 and should also create an audio stream aswell.

Open the .dv2 and the select button will let you chose the audio stream you want to include.

Missed a box in taking the screenshot. RHS 'Interleaving & AVI Overhead' make sure that the 'Calculate Frame-Overhead' box is checked.
From the dropdown under 'Audio 1' chose 'VBR MP3'.

I don't have a screenshot of the save & encode dialog but make sure under the 'Audio 1' tab of the dialog, you chose 'Just Mux'.

    Should be fine.

    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/gknot-divx3.htm

about 3/4 down the page, you'll see the text
Then go to the audio1 tab, press Select and select your MP3 (or Ogg) file from Robot4rip (or AC3 file in case you want AC3 audio), and make sure Just Mux is selected.

    There's a screenshot below it.

For auto GK make sure to select an audio track in step 2. If you did that then did you install it properly? There are lots of things that can go wrong. Maybe a reinstall would help. It works for me everytime. It's working right now :D

kaimera you should try AutoGK. it's much easier to work... unless of course you're a tweaking sadist :D
