    Hi

    Just came across software4students

MS Office Pro (Word, Excel, PowePoint & Access) - €97.95

MS Office Standard (as above but minus Access) - €79.94

    Office Project Standard - €79.95

    Publisher - €28.95

    Visual Studio 2005 Pro - €99.95

Postage is €3.50 (per item I think)

You need to register and your school gets a 5% rebate on the price.

On a seperate note, a lot of larger companies have a Home Use Program with MS - I got Office 2003 Pro for €29. I've no idea though how you find out if your employer is a member of the scheme but i'd imagine most of the banks, insureance companies, pharmas etc may be covered.

From what I gather they are old versions i.e xp. 2003 is going to be outdated with 2007 shortly.

Also XP PRo can be used by any one.

Its only Office Students & Teacher Edition that has to be used by students and teachers afaik

True, they are the Office 2003 editions that are to be replaced in the next few months by Office 2007, but at present they are the current versions.

Presumably when 2007 is out, you will be able to order that version at the same price.

XP Pro can be used by anybody - but that is the operating system and not the Office Software! Office is Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc - completely different to the OS (which is about to be replaced by Visata).

Functionally there is no difference between Office Standard and Student and Teacher but Student & Teacher can be installed on up to 3 machines.

According to the pcworld website Student & Teacher is €189.99, so you're saving over €100. The only downside is that, I presume, the license from software4students is for a single machine.

Office Standard is €525 from pcworld.

€100 is a great price for Visual Studio Pro.

From what I remember of Microsoft student licences, they do offer the latest versions soon after release.
