Came across a villain who was multi-tabling(4 i think ).
    Level: .25/.50c
    Stacks: me ~45 villain ~95
2/3 time it was his button/my BB he would raise to $2.50(5 bb)

picked up on this quick enough. he also seemed to do this more frequently if he folded each hand PF on that particular orbit or if he'd no profit upon said orbit.

im considered to be fairly TAG as is the villain.

just wondering what holdings are included in you reraising and calling ranges?

you mean he raised to 5? ie open raised to 10bbs? If so then I would never call this, just reraise it from time to time. Its awful from his perspective because he is risking $10 to win .$50, all you have to do is reraise him back once or twice and you are the one making a profit and not him. Even if you were to only reraise with good hands (AT+) its a nice situation for him.

    sorry i meant raise to 5X BB - $2.50.
its far too early/late for me.

ok sorry, probably should of realised that. Anyway the same advice applies, I would basically never call it; just reraise from time to time. Cold calling preflop here really sucks and is probably the most exploitable leak at a poker table. Anyone who makes a habit of calling with KQ , 44 or similar here (unless the guy is super bad) is making a horrible mistake.

When you reraise make sure its at least a pot reraise.

If the guy had some noticable leaks, like he was too tight after the flop (not many people are like this), or too loose after the flop, or bluffed too much; then cold calling hands like TT or Kqs might be worth considering.

edit: just to add I would be actually looking for a spot to reraise him, rather than waiting for the right cards. The first time you do it your cards really dont matter at all, in fact its better to do it with crap so you dont waste a good hand! The second time you do it you are much more likely to get called, so you need to adjust your range accordingly.

agreed, im pretty much alwasys reraising too. i dont think a call works for me (ie slowplay AA/KK or play marginal cards) as he probably wont cbet often enough unless of a big PP or made hand for it to be worth the risk.

as soon as i decided to act i didnt mind what cards were really. actually picked up 88 made it $10 to play he folded and slowed down on the button.

at least its a bit easier to figure out or have a villain specific plan for cash games than mid-late stage tournies looking at potential anhilihation or re-stealing oppurtunities

At .25/0.50 and .50/1 people raise the cutoff or button almost every orbit, especially 4 tablers. The easy strategy is reraise them regularly with garbage and the soon slow down.

If this was on tribecca there's a high chance I was the villain. Usually it works out to be pretty profitable, either I pick up the blinds most of the time, or take it down with one or two barrels, plus when I get a hand on the button I'm more likely to get action. It's usual for people to play back, although last night I couldn't get through one on table, so I slowed down somewhat, and waited for a hand, I then stacked the bb with kings when he had tp, the sb raised to steal, bb rr the steal, I then rr and he shoved.

although I'd be doing it more like 1/3 than 2/3s of the time.
