Calling is not great. You will rarely flop a hand you are 100% happy with and AQ does not play well in a 4 way pot. If they were suited I would consider playing it as a drawing hand if the stacks were a bit bigger.

You could raise. If the table was playing very loose and you thought busterurgez's range was quite wide (and also if shafAA was aware of his range) you might consider a squeeze play. unice flat calling out of position makes things tough though. You need to put in a solid raise to stop the "chain call" effect which you see so often in these MTTs. I'd probably pot it to 8k. You are looking to take it pre-flop and have a horrible hand to play out of position if you get called. You are risking 8k to win 6200. So if one of them has QQ/KK/AA even 40% of the time its a bad result for you.

I think the best option is fold. I hate these spots so i tend to just fold them.

Is it not worth calling here for 1600 more to see the flop? I understand we're behind here and need to get lucky but is it not worth the 1600? We have plenty of chips after all and won't have any problem folding after the flop. Or is the thinking simply, we know we're behind, therefore fold?

I think this hand would be kind of marginal (leaning towards folding anyway) but the utg limper makes it a clear fold. You dont just have to be worried about utg, but the raisers range should be tighter as well.

I think we need a sticky to say why cold calling preflop is nearly always bad

That sticky would be pretty interesting. Are we folding mostly because of the possibility of UTG reraising? How likely is this? Or becasue we know we're behind?

fold because we will never really know where we are on the flop, if it comes A high, we could be behind and get in trouble, if it comes Q high, likewise, we are out of position and could end up doing a lot of chips with what is the most over played hand in poker.
