Just preordered my Wii for late Jan in Xtra Game, was hoping that Nintendo would behave post Xmas and flood Ireland and the rest of the gaming world with Wii's, but unfortunely not, anywaiz I was just wondering if anyone else has preordered from them before and knows if they are reliable. I paid 50euro, and was told I may have a console in late Jan, but thats all I was told. I have a receipt and everything, just wondering if anyone knows if they get a lot of Wii stock in, or if they did, pre Xmas.

    Thanks

any stores with pre-orders get prioritised. if the company gets stock, your store will receive it.

Only a bad experience with my preorder there. You should cancel it and get the better deal in argos. Less than 300 for console+zelda.

you are not guaranteed it.thats what you should have been told. I don't know if Xtra Game are going to get priority over the xtra vision general stores, but in our store...we are taking pre books but not guaranting consoles. Deposit is totally refundable obviously. The reason being that they dont know when or how many they will get from nintendo,so if there are 10 pre books and they only get 5,the first 5 will get it.

Can I ask what your bad experience was?

There's no communication between stores. I was told I'd be getting it on opening day. Aapprently, from the horses mouth, from the wednesday prior to the release day they knew they wouldn;t have enough. On the release day I called the store - yea ring back later today, will have them, rang about 3 times - fintal time, sorry not today. Emmm when? Not shure. So I ring head office. Get a narky cow on the fone feeding me the we didn't have enough, knew since wednesday line, why couldn't you tell the store that then?, or inform the customers to look elsewhere etc. etc... Uhhhhhh...

The point I'd ask you would be why go to xtragame when you could buy the stuff in Argos for cheaper, and get it sooner?

probably the staff you dealt with. Because no one was guaranteed for opening day. That was the line with stores across the country. You were guaranteed it before Christmas, and everyone got one before Christmas to my knowledge. So probably whatever staff you dealt with,it was always before Christmas that you would be getting it.
