but there's a pretty decent chance it is a coin flip, and winning it will put me in the driving seat for the rest of the tournament.there's only 2 prizes.

Why? Fundamentals of the game dont change just cos its a satellite.

Fold for me also. he has left himself damn all behind and most likely is holding a monster.

Posted a similar issue with 66 in a live tourney here recently and although this isn't exactly the same situation the overwhelming consensus was "Fold".

At very best you are in a coin flip, you could also be dominated.
You have a deep stack relative to the blinds and can therefore afford to wait for a better spot.

    IMO - Fold.

    What did you do anyway?

Surely a sat encourages us to gambol more?

he delayed for a few secs before betting, I thought he was trying to isolate and imo didn't have a monster.

no, just a couple of hands in after breaking into 2 tables, I was also 4 tabling cash games so wasn't paying the fullest of attention..

yes they do. when else would you fold Aces preflop. Satellites are very different imo. if only first gets paid then you do need to take on more marginal hands when you think you are ahead, more so than if there were 20 tickets with 25 left. you are playing for first.
