I've just placed my pre-order with Smyths (yeah, i know, leaving it late etc... but haven't had the money and am studying so don't want any distractions)

What comes with the Wii? Am I right in thinking its Wii Play and the Wii Mote?

Also, if i was to buy a game or some hardware such as a nunchuck, in america, would they work?

    Thanks!

you get this with your wii.

    1 x wiimote
    1 x nanchuk
    1 x wiisports.
1 x wii + plus power supply etc etc.

wiiplay is not included although it can be bought in a special package that includes a wiimote for 50/55 euros depending where you buy. this is a fairly good price as the wiimote on it's own cost around 40/45 euros.

extra controllers and nanchuk i don't see any problems with them working with an EU console or vice versa, but i'm not sure about the games i think they are region locked.

Not really. I got one at launch and haven't even really used it yet. I prefer to use a Wiimote turned on it's side instead. As more N64 games are released it might be worth getting if you don't have any gamecube controllers.

As regards the classic controller, it depends on if you will be downloading Virtual Console games or not, or how much you'll be playing them. I got one, and use it for the virtual console games that I got (With the exception of Bomberman '93, which is perfect on just the Wiimote)

Donkey Kong Country, and most other SNES games require more than just two buttons, so you need a GameCube controller, or a Classic Controller. From my own experience, it's much better using the Classic, as the button layout is much better for button combinations that the GameCube controller is practically impossible to use for.
