Why not Tribeca?? and PP

    Hi,

As a new player, I find posts here invaluable, but I distinctly feel a dept of feeling against Tribeca.

For me, PP is a no brainer for the following reasons:

    Ease of setup
Ease of deposit/withdrawal (when I want to play, I want to play now, not in 5 working days! )
Ability to instantly deposit in a shop

Also for me, Tribeca is the easiest by far to use, at least you can see whats going on, I've tried the others and maybe its me but they are hella confusing at times...hard to see what a bet is at times....

    Yes I have a question !

If I'm graduating from a numpty to profit making newbie, whats the best software out there, and why?

    Thanks

    M

    Tribeca is teh suck because:

    1) I'm limited to 4 tables.
    2) Even when I play 4, the software is so confusing it takes the same concentration level as 8 Party tables.
    3) The betting system sucks. "Raise to $150, not by $150 OMFG Grrrr......"
    4) Playing with 75bbs reduces my edge.
    5) Playing with 75bbs is a pain in the ass.
    6) I havent tried to withdraw yet but I suspect that will be a pain.
    7) I had to deposit 6 times because of the stupid $1200 deposit limit. wtf!!??
    8) The stupid beep beep beep beep when it's your turn gives me nightmares in my sleep.
    9) The hand history review system sucks big styleee.
    10) You cant see mucked hands at showdown.
    11) The tables are so slow, You get dealt like 50% more hands on a party 6max table then a tribeca one.

    need I go on?

    2) Even when I play 4, the software is so confusing it takes the same concentration level as 8 Party tables. As above
    3) The betting system sucks. "Raise to $150, not by $150 OMFG Grrrr......" Suppose what ever way you start playing is the one that suits, I started on VC so, hate the 888 system right now.
    4) Playing with 75bbs reduces my edge. On lower (my) limits its higher, I play more STTs too
    5) Playing with 75bbs is a pain in the ass.
    6) I havent tried to withdraw yet but I suspect that will be a pain. I suspect it will be a doddle ;)
    7) I had to deposit 6 times because of the stupid $1200 deposit limit. wtf!!?? Doesn't apply to me
    8) The stupid beep beep beep beep when it's your turn gives me nightmares in my sleep. turn it off
    9) The hand history review system sucks big styleee. agree there, but at least you can take it, unlike some
    10) You cant see mucked hands at showdown. Why the hell should you be able to, If I muck I dont expect vilian to get extra info on me, I show if I want to show
    11) The tables are so slow, You get dealt like 50% more hands on a party 6max table then a tribeca one. Can't comment here, 888 is faster than PPP but only because it leaves out alot

    need I go on?

You've sorta answered your own question. Whichever you find the best for you is the one you should stick with.

Its possible because most people here actually play on Tribeca. Its what is there for us to take a dig at.

If everyone here played stars there'd be loads of 'where's the ****ln fold keyboard shortcut on stars' posts.

Well there's no relationship between software and winrate so I assume you mean what's the best site / network to play at. Tribeca is a good network to play for soft play, the Irish that PPP bring in are by and large some of the worst players on the net, likewise a lot of the Brits that come in though it and VC are unspeakably bad because they are gamblers not poker players. There are a lot of small networks with terrible players but insufficent player liquidity for guaranteed games. Of the larger sites Partypoker has poorer quality players than its competitors Pokerstars, Fulltilt, and UltimateBet.

If you were actually asking what the best software is then it is probably Pokerstars or Fulltilt. Also your beloved Tribeca will soon be running on the far superior Playtech software of the Ipoker network in a few weeks. Most of us are not hugely impressed by Tribeca's software and unless Playtech sell it off to Doylesroom or something we've probably seen the last of it for a while.

For keyboard shortcuts you could use an AHK script.

Is a date confirmed for this, is it likely to be a few weeks? I heard 4 months+...

    The tournaments are terrible structure.
Last week in the IPC quailfier, there was 2 tables and 1 table had 9 people on it while the other had 6 people, this occured for at least 10 minutes.
There are far better networks out there imo by far.

    Ease of setup
Most sites have the same process for setting up an account. But you should really spend time setting up your account. If you get more into Poker you'll be very annoyed you didn't use your sign-up at sites wisely, as it's actually valuable and many reputable people and websites will basically pay you to play on their site.
Ease of deposit/withdrawal (when I want to play, I want to play now, not in 5 working days! )
If you have a credit card then it's the same with every site out there. But it's well worth getting a Neteller account set-up and just fund that, it'll help control your Poker spending (as you will lose money when you're starting out)
Ability to instantly deposit in a shop
This is basically the only thing PPP have going for them and what attracts alot of newer players. Also long may it last, as PPP do a great job of bringing in Fresh Fish.
Also for me, Tribeca is the easiest by far to use, at least you can see whats going on, I've tried the others and maybe its me but they are hella confusing at times...hard to see what a bet is at times....
This is just a phenomenon that occurs in on-line Poker, it's just related to the first site you use, you'll always have a special place in your heart for what ever site it is. I first played on Ladbrokes and hated all the other sites software to begin with, but after a while and trying out other sites, I actually found that there was better sites out there once I got used to them. If you try other places, you'll quickly see that Tribeca is basically the worst software around.

It's really up to yourself, I personally think UltimateBet or PokerStars have the best Software, then followed by Full Tilt, Party, Cryptologic, then Tribeca. There's other sites but I just mentioned the main ones. Having said all that I'm currently playing on Tribeca because of the crap players and a good RakeBack scheme. But if I had my choice I'd like to play on the UB or Stars software against the Tribeca players.

Tribeca has terrible tourney structures. I urge anyone who likes to play tournaments to deposit a few bucks on Stars. Great choice of tournaments with a good standard structure and some excellent deepstack games for reasonable buy - ins. The software is excellent also IMO.
depends on why people play tournaments

Well posters from Paddy Power could answer this better than I, but it was originally desired to be 4 months by Playtech and that was 2 months ago. That's really all I have to go on. Pitboss / Karlh care to give an estimate / date?

We are underway with preperation and it will be soon however I cannot confirm a date with you as this very much depends on readiness on both sides.
I dont want to estimate coz I could get ragged for it later on :) but I promise to keep you updated.
