1-2 UB hand

1-2NL on UB. Table is playing pretty aggro tough. I've taken down a lot of small pots and haven't shown a hand so I don't really have a table image yet

It's 5 handed. 1 limper. I make it $10 with AcJs. Button calls me. limper folds.

Flop 3c-Jh-7c. I bet 18. He raises to 38. I call. Turn is 5c. I check. He bets $47. I call. River is the King of diamonds. I check. He goes all in for $150. I cover.

    Call or fold?

Have you any reason not to believe him?

He has played his hand very very strongly. And the 3 to a flush has not slowed him down. I dont think he has a set, I think he slows down somewhat if he has.

I think something like JQc,109c,10Jc is quite likely by the river with the pot at 200 all-in is his only meaningful bet.

I think I fold the turn but if i call the turn I am more inclined to call the river.

id fold the turn and the river is an easy fold even if his SN is bluffy mcblufferson

Fuzz, I don't like folding the flop or turn.

I think I'd fold the river.
But I would've called on the turn -getting 3-1 with nut flush draw and tptk, with money left for last round of betting,
seeing as you'll likely stack him if the club comes

    why do you say this?

I would fold the flop, and then maybe the turn but if id gotten to the river I might call

Im not sure the flop is such a clear fold? What do you think he has given the preflop action?

    Working Backwards:

    River: easy fold.

Turn: might call, might fold, might CRAI.

Flop: probably fold to the RR. Don't like being OOP in what will be a big pot with just TP.

All the above depends on how aggressive the game had been playing and what the Button was like.

I think this is a fold on the river.

Does anyone think a reraise on the flop is a good option, maybe to $120?

No one so far! Most decent players out there aren't going to get all in for 100 big blinds with less than TPTK (or a draw) without a read, which villain doesn't have according to Nicky. And we don't have any reason to think that the guy is bad. If we raise and are called/put all in probable best case scenario is we're up against 12 outs or we need runner runner.

    HJ-
On reflection, we likely won't take his stack on another club,
    Point conceded.

Do you fold tptk to a reraise on the flop as standard?
-Is 1-2 the minimum level you would do this at?

    Preflop: Fine
    Flop: Standard fold.
    Turn: Easy fold
    River: Open fold

    Any reads?

Good call Nicky, nice one. However, you should know that most of the time you are beat here.

That depends on a lot of things. Its much more a call on this type of table on UB because everyone is very aggro in position. On other tables I might fold the flop

Yeah if you get to the river like this you should call, otherwise your turn play is vbad.

yeah normally I lead the turn.

You mean to say that you lead turn after being check-raised on the flop?

    I wasn't check raised.

    Well raised even.

    Well raised even.

So yeah I lead the turn. Why not? If I call the flop I'm not checking the turn in the hope he'll check behind, so I can either fold the flop or call and then lead or check-call the turn. Either way I'm almost always putting money in the pot on the turn if I call the flop bet.

The way this table was playing I think I get raise by a weaker jack or even and underpair too often to throw away TPTK without a thought.

Well you left a lot of info out. Sounds like you were at a table full of loose aggro donks in which case tptk is teh nuts. Generally though this is a super-easy fold on pretty much every street.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

Also leading the turn as a standard after this action is pretty horrific in most games.

Assuming I haven't read all the posts in this thread, if the river brings a fourth club, I go for a c/r AI. Good/bad?
