in car dvd problem

    nephew gave me in car dvd player, he turned it on one morning and all he got was a high pitched beep from it, he gave it to me. anyone any ideas on what could be wrong? blown fuses,diodes etc

    High pitched beep from the player unit?

    Is it the type that has separate screens?

    Have you the facility to make sure the correct voltage is coming out of the car socket adaptor into the dvd player? (Multimeter?)

    Does it have a power light on the player?

    it has a flip screen built into the unit
    the voltage is correct
    no lights
