A friend, while boxing, managed to smash a wine glass to pieces within one hour of opening the box. Methinks I'll pay more attention to the warning about not having nearby objects.... :D

Worst thing that has happened now (Bare in mind this is a month in) is I slightly hit my hand off my wardrobe. So no I have had no accidents, my girlfriend smacked our cat across the head while playing bowling, not knowing she was behind us.....
But nothing serious, not on my fault anyway.

lol, I've got a smack in the arm when my friend was playing baseball with me, I'd love to see what kinda stuff would happen with 4 people in a cramped space:D

I smacked a friend of mine in the head during 4-player tennis, and he was on my team :D He's got a projector so it was great to play the Wii on a 6ft screen

worst I've done is smack the wiimote (while it was still in my hand, not like I let it fly off somewhere!) off the side of a chair and the bed post in what is a very, very small room... thankfully it's a sturdy piece of kit!

I was a bit concerned when I let my girlfriend's little bro have a go of it; he was playing Boxing in Wii Sports and seemed to be slowly getting closer to the TV as he played on; had visions of him punching the TV, but thankfully that didn't happen!

I've got smacked a couple of times, but the worst was a friend who was 'running' across court for a shot, ran into the chair, fell over, and whacked his head against the wall. He wasn't out cold, but was pretty dazy for a while and we brought him to the doctor, but he ended up ok, but with a massive bump. He doesn't play tennis anymore.

    The wii is great

My brother smashed a glass lampshade that was on the ceiling light while playing tennis. Lots of the glass came shattering down on top of his sleeping infant daughter who was lying on the sofa.

But those lampshades have been broken lots of times in the past in non wii-related incidents.

I was introducing my technophobic dad, the other week, to Wii tennis when he hit me with the remote, i think he was just a bad loser. Having my first Wii night tonight with other wii owners and plenty of drink will be involved so no doubt something will happen.

Had a few of the lads over
    bit of drink taken
nothing serious was just playing bowling and his the light on the roof didnt break or anything but you'd wonder how playing bowling you could hit something on the roof...

I've not witnessed any major accidents. Mostly it's just drunken people walloping each other in the arms or head by accident. I've been on the receiving end of a few. Thank god the Wiimote is practically invincible since there have been plenty of clashing wiimotes during tennis.

Our Wii related injury list has been quite extensive

I nearly knocked my cat unconcious. It jumped up to catch the strap as I swung and he got a full force whack on the head and was startled before running off at 200mph :D

Broke 1 cup on the coffee table.

    Smashed hand against door.

    Bruised Elbows

Smacked side of head when playing wii boxing. Tried doing the spin hook thing and hit the person sat next to me.

Are you like accident prone? Or have you recently been cursed by a witch, walked under a ladder, shattered a mirror. Maybe you should try playing your wii in a open field.
Only jokin but seriously there are a lot of injuries, i can see some American tryin to sue Nintendo after their son assualted them with the remote!

Friend of mine smashed a glass lamp shade, which rained down on everyone but luckly didn't cause any injury (think that was tennis).

One of my sisters smacked the other in the face while bowling.

i honestly don't see where all the injuries are coming from..my 5 yo god child played bowling and boxing for ages and even she didn't drop the wiimote

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

I trust your five year old god child wasn't drunk at the time :)

Seriously though, the two accidents I mentioned were just the result of big people getting over excited in small spaces. I haven't seen anyone let go of the remote yet.

The only problem I had was once playing bowling while sitting on an armchair. I forgot that I had moved to take a drink and when I went to swing down hit my hand off the side.

I also let the wiimote fall out of my hand but I wasn't playing at the time. I had just finishing playing and started to chat to my flatmate about something. I got a bit animated in my hand movements trying to make a point and forgot I had it in my hand. But I didn't break anything so it was ok.
