    Hi,

just need to drill a hole for getting standard Sky Dig next week.

Will get lad to route cable thru pipe area from attic and then thru wall to TV.
But want the newly plastered wall to be drilled at the proper location.

so - what size diameter is the cable the sky instller will use - 10mm ??
Is there a standard lenght if cable allowed before charging - run will be about 8m in length.

    Thx

Aye a 10mm bit is the norm for sat cable.

Most Sky installers wont go near attics, independants will, depending on circumstances.

They shouldn't charge any extra for a 8m cable run, but, am i correct in assuming that you want the installer to feed his cable down a pipe within your wall and then try and take it out of a 10mm hole in a certain spot??

I will get the installer to put the cable thru the soffit beside the dish and I will go into attic and bring cable down thru a boxed section in the kitchen and thru my 10mm pre-drilled hole and he can then hook up to the stb.

    thx folks.
