World Strongest Man Competition

    I was wondering does anyone know why the World Strongest Man Competition is no longer being shown on BBC. It is usually held in September and BBC would show it in the week between Christmas and New Year. It is even difficult to find the results on the internet, I just learned that Phil Phfister USA won it and Mariusz Pudzianowski was second I think. I know that Eurosport show some super series events. Does anyone know whether they show the World competition or not? Can you see it on any TV channel?

    I know that I would watch Worlds strongest man, might email Setanta and find out if they would show it. They show Polish soccer matches. For a lot of Polish people Mariusz is a hero. He comes from my fiancee town, I'v met people who have met the strongest man in the world, kinda crazy haha.
    As a one off spectacle its got to be more interesting than Hibernian against St. Mirren in Scottish league.

    Yea would definitely watch it - seeing as Eurosport show other Strong Man competitions surely they would have shown this???

    Actually the competition is still on telly. They are showing the final tonight at 8pm on this channel
    What channell is this? can we pick it up on sky digital?

    Oops, saw this thread a little late I'm afraid. I was reading it and thinking to myself, 'hang on I've seen it on telly recently?' and yes you are right it was on Five. Five is a British terrestrial channel that is available on Sky in the UK and I believe also in Ireland (as Sparky_s [Spanky_s] can get it on Sky).

    I live in England (:() so can receive it via a rooftop ariel. Saw a bit of it and as always I was amazed at the things these guys can do! :eek:
