Any Wii's in Dublin

I just spent today checking every argos for a wii online, as well as physically tring xtravision & gamestop rathmines, argos stephens green, hmv, and game and none are to be found anywhere, they are all saying "a few more week's" if anyone has any other ideas I would apreciate it!

i got one in blanch argos,couple of weeks ago,i reckon someone reserved it and didnt collect,i reserved it at 7am on a sunday,when i checked other argos stores at that time there were some in liffey valley and swords,so the tricks is check as early as poss

I walked into Smyths on Jervis street yesterday and bought 2 one for me and one for my boss, I was shocked they had them and there was no fuss!!!

Went in to Smyths Blanch this morning and they said they had none till the end of Jan, website says there is stock though.

I walked into a Smyths first thing the other morning and bought one over the counter also. I think that's your best bet. The info on the website will never be completely accurate

No reason there wesite cannt be acurate, they use an electronic stock contol and isd say thats where they feed the data from.

Which one did you get it in?

Theoretically you're right but people make mistakes and from my years of experience working with stock databases, they're never 100% right (maybe because I was working with them :rolleyes: )
Also, for this specific case, I bought my wii even though the website said they didn't have any. tried to stay away from the main Dublin shops and got it in the bray branch

Would have thought that barcodes had it fairly tight these days but I suppose its still down to the users to scan properly and ultimly who knows what the Symths backend is.

A simple sale is straight forward but there's cases such as faulty returns, theft, wrong amount of units in delivery, exchanges (i doubt anyone's exchanged their wii), deposits, wrong barcode (usually printed by the shop for their own database) put on box, transfers between shops, shop personel buying internally/informally which can all lead to inconsistancies.

The bf picked up another Wii yesterday from Smyths @ Jervis. Not a bother getting it and, according to him, the person behind him was also able to get one.

hi all i just got my wii in game on henry street . they have one more at that store. Its very quiet in there , id say the other game has them too. Best get there fast before lunch break.!!

Don't they have an in-stock guarantee in Smyths?

If you check it as in stock on the website and then when you call in and it isn't available they give you a gift voucher.
