Congrats on having the longest Forum name in the history of the InterWeb. :)

It's even longer than your other one. Mature & Non-Traditional Students.
Thay take up 4 full lines under your name. You should opt Idi Amin as Co-Mod. With his full title "His Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea, and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular." he would fit in nicely.:D

Idi Amin and I? There can be only one dictator. :D

GL with the forum smashey. If it attracts the same type of posters as over in G/DIY then you'll have a quiet time, they keep busy looking for or requesting good information which is always at hand.

Kinds hoped they would shorten the title, but congrats,
    suppose now we wait

Things that I would like to write a post about when I get time.

The planning application stage for extensions and new builds.

Exemptions from planning, including green design, and requirements for a planning appliaction.

Legal ramifactions of self builds and owner liabilty.

Great to see this up and running.

I think maybe we could have a sticky (that can be added to) to include links to exempted development rules, building regs etc. that would be handy for quick referencing and can be used as the "bible" for all

well Smashey, thanks for the help in keeping the topic alive and eventually leading to the creation of this wonderful channel for information/advice etc.....in this huge widely varying area which can be a quagmire for both professionals and non-professionals alike. Heres hoping that this will be of wonderful benefit to anyone with an interest in this area.

Of course, needed for this forum to work are people with plenty of knowledge in the various areas.

    Who will be the Mods.

What area do u work in Smashey?

    I am a civil engineer.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling so to speak. The other forum I moderate might give you a clue as to what I do. :D

I am a mature student of Architectural Technology and currently self employed and up to my eyeballs in planning applications. I also work two days a week with an Architect in Letterkenny, having previously worked with one in Co. Tyrone and I do a few freelance jobs for another member of boards.ie who shall remain anonymous.

Right, somebody had to do the first post thread thing and in this instance it was me. :D I will lock it now but if anybody wants to start a thread relating to the professions of members (in an introductory way), then feel free.
