you wont find much work in irrelnad apart from a few of the special workshops, get an apprentaship as a mechanic would be your best bet

Stop watching American Chopper and learn your lessons like a good lad.

528i - are a Christian Brother or something - stop patronising a simple question.

FWIW -I'd certainly apply myself to the lessons alright........but only for the purposes of doing bike mechanic'ing professionally - there are several v.good schools in the UK -

    Tivertion - at http://www.edc.ac.uk/apprenticeships/apprenticeships.html

Soundwell College, Bristol - at http://www.cityofbristol.ac.uk/cobctemplates/subclassification_ft.asp?classid=29
and see a review, here http://docs.ali.gov.uk/Inspreps/1/495DET.PDF

Given that Bristol is where I went, I'm biased, but looking back, I'd have chosen Tiverton if offered the opportunity.

Finally, it is sometimes thought that Merton College is the creme, and you can find it here: http://www.merton.ac.uk/content.asp?id=26

Last thought: stuff the begrudgers, and go do. But do the homework - there's enough monkey's out there wielding wrenches - aim higher.......

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

He's right though :( there's between zero and f**k-all opportunity to make a living in this country building specials. The bike market as a whole here is small enough never mind a tiny sub-set of it.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Dont know where you are, but how about asking uncaged in arklow, or ger conlon (?) and C&C in cork? Theyre the only custom builders Im aware of. Others may know more. TBH youll need a good grounding in basic bike mechanics before you get into custom building. Theres a lot more grunt work involved than those silly US shows make out.:)
